So- I have finally reached my first major goal on this journey- I've lost 100+ pounds. Honestly, I really hadn't ever spent much time thinking about or setting goals for anything beyond losing 100lbs- I have been focused like a missle on this goal and now I've had a week to start thinking about the future- answering the question: "Now What?"
I still don't know what my goal weight is exactly and I don't intend on setting it until I get closer- for me I could care less about the # on the scale, it's about how healthy I am and the way I look- I'm guessing my goal weight will be somewhere between 165-185. I know that # might horrify some as a goal weight, but I'm 5'10'', don't have a small frame as it is, and am pretty muscular. SO- right now my long term goal is to get out of the 200's (which is something still pretty unfathomeable for me); meaning I am gonna be KILLING it on my way to losing the 52lbs needed to hit 199lbs.
Well, now this is where the fun begins. Why? Because reaching this new goal will be nothing like trying to reach my first. Sure, the principles are the same, the sacrifice is the same, much of my routine will be the same but now I get to do it all being able to exercise, knowing how to eat healthily, and most importantly, KNOWING that I can do it. Plus, it's just the truth that now when I lose weight, it is much more noticeable than it was when I was much heavier and it's encouraging to notice the differences. I am more focused now than ever on becoming the healthiest, most fit, hottest (channeling my inner Hannah & Olivia!) me I can be.
I'm looking forward to setting some great June goals and to soon make it into the 240's! That's about it for today folks, I would like to say a huge THANK YOU to all of you who offered your congratulations on my last post- it really is great to know that many of you have been reading my blog since I weighed over 300lbs and that some of you are just coming to discover my blog now and it's serving as proof that YOU can do it to! It's a blessing to be able to inspire anyone.
Alright folks, I'm signing off with a pic of my lunch meal for this week (yes I eat the same thing for lunch every day Mon-Fri): Italian Grilled Chicken Breast & Mixed Veggies (Red onion, zucchini, squash, and mushrooms):
Peace & Love Ya'll!

I think your goal of 165-185 is reasonable. Especially since you will measure your success by how healthy you feel and how you look.
ReplyDeleteBest of luck getting out of the 200s! You can totally do it!
Congrads on your weightloss you look great. Your journey is inspiring. I am also in my 20's and I am focusing on my wieghtloss journey also. I have a blog and I love getting my thoughts out there. I have lost -2lbs so far and it is a challenging experience. I know in the long run it will be well worth it.Since you lost of weight do you find your arms and other areas are extremely flabby? I ask because I have been working out alot and eating well and my arms are really flabby and they were never like that.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on 100 pounds! Wow that is awesome!

I love your attitude & your approach to the next step in your journey! I'm also loving that your goal weight is 165-185ish... rather than 125 on a 5'10 frame! (That has to be my pet peeve with people!)You are doing great & i know you'll shed this weight just like last time. LOVE IT! :)
ReplyDeleteTiffany, I have been following your journey faithfully, but have only commented a few times. I wanted to give you a big congratulations for losing over 100 pounds--I was so happy for you when I saw that post!
ReplyDeleteI also wanted to chime in on your general idea for a goal weight. I think it is really reasonable, and I think that in addition to being healthy, you will look really great at that weight. I am someone who is naturally muscular, and I work out five days a week. I'm 5'1, fit, and my weight is generally between 124 and 127. I wear a size 4, so I am by no stretch a big person or overweight. So if I'm a muscular 125 at 5'1, someone who is nine inches taller than me would probably weigh in somewhere in the weight range you laid out.
Also, as you get closer to your goal weight, you will start to understand where you feel most comfortable. You may initially go under your final goal weight, and then creep back up to it. That's what I did. I ended up going as low as 112, and while I was very thin at that weight, it wasn't a realistic long-term weight for me. I gained back some weight, little by little, and after seeing myself at different weight points (120, 125, 130), I eventually found my "sweet spot." You will find yours as well.
Hannah and Olivia looked fantastic, but I have to admit being shocked when I saw Hannah--who is about 5'8--weighed 128! Maybe she'll be able to maintain it, but I wouldn't be surprised if she ends up finding that weighing a few more pounds is more sustainable (and still looks great). Tara from a few seasons ago is a perfect example of someone who was much thinner at the final weigh-in but is now incredibly fit and healthy with a little more weight.
WOW! Excellent news to hear that you reached 100lbs lost!! I havent been around for a while but I remember your first few posts and how huge a goal it seemed to be for you, now you are there and you are planning your next goal - SUCH AN INSPIRATION!! Next goal of onederland is an excellent goal, I am sure you will make it there in no time ;o) Im looking forward to the next chapter xo
ReplyDeleteI'm so excited to have found your blog tonight! You're like a younger version of myself :) I started my weight loss at 350 lbs. (I'm also 5'10") and am currently at a plateau of 323ish. My goal weight is 170-180 lbs., so I think your goal is totally reasonable and healthy. Congratulations on your weight loss - I'm inspired!
